It’s out, like a secret held close to my chest, treasured in joy – I am an artist! If I don’t paint during the day, I paint in my sleep. Oh, the creations that have yet to see the light day! I felt that I needed to get to a certain point before I could share, but instead of a painting as an endpoint, each one has become a page in my journal of growth and exploration.

I invite you to share and revel in my sojourn. I love flowers and am an overambitious gardener, and the botanist in me requires perfection in reflection which is currently at war with the need to leave a little mystery for others to find. Looking for subjects that tell a story, and developing that part of me that can make a story out of a scene…these are things I am working on…not just the craft and using watercolor well, but pulling you in to the story as well.

In addition to developing my skills in acrylics, my latest foray is using watercolor on canvas. I love the intensity of the paint and how it floats and mixes. I like using colors that “push” others when wet, others that granulate, and still those that when mixed, separate again while drying. You can hear me laughing and exulting throughout my house when it all comes together on paper or canvas, and hope you share some of this same joy!
