Raised and educated in Santa Cruz, California, Roy Musitelli moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1977 with a reverence for compelling visual images through photojournalism. After a 30-year award-winning career in the newspaper field came to a close, a passion for illustration and design called him back to the drawing board. He now resides in Medford, Oregon, spending his days focused on the natural scenic beauty of the region and honing his craft as an illustrative designer.
“Making the transition from photographer to illustrator seemed like a natural choice since I’d always considered myself to be an artist first. Blending color and light in much the same manner as the way pixels form a digital photograph has followed me through to hand-drawn designs, where conversion to a digital format allows further enhancement that brings new life to visual illustration.”
