Art du Jour Gallery is honored to present award-winning works in watercolor by our distinguished guest artist Lane Hall in our Salon. Lane will be present at our Third Friday Art Walk reception on February 19 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to meet our gallery visitors.
Highly regarded in the American art world, Lane Hall lives in the Rogue Valley and has been painting rural landscapes in the Northwest and Southwest full time since 2004. He earned Platinum Membership in the Watercolor Society of Oregon and has won numerous awards in state, national and international competitions. He recently received the Frances Nell Storer Memorial Award for his painting “Oak Burl” in the American Watercolor Society’s 148th International Exhibition in New York. His painting “Creekside” won the Kanuga Watermedia Workshops Award in the National Watercolor Society’s 95th International Exhibition in San Pedro, California. He is a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society and has had work published in North Light Book’s Strokes of Genius II, as well as The Best of Drawing Light and Shadow, Southwest Art and Watercolor Artist. Lane earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Southern Oregon University in 1986. He is represented by Total Arts Gallery in Taos, New Mexico, and Marta Stafford Fine Art in Marble Falls, Texas.
Lane says of his art, “Within all the elements of art, my foundational aim is to achieve a balance of tightly and loosely rendered areas in my work, sharing the emotion concurrent with my passion. I love the stark value contrasts and varying textures found in nature and endeavor to translate my unique interpretation for the viewer onto a two dimensional surface.”
Join us at Art du Jour Gallery on Third Friday, February 19, to meet guest artist Lane Hall and our Art du Jour artists. Our artist’s reception will feature special music by jazz fusion guitarists Dan Fellman and Grant Ruiz. Also on display during February are Mardi-Gras-themed works of art by gallery artists on our “All That Jazz” feature wall. Regular gallery hours are 10 – 4, Tuesday – Saturday.
