My passion for exploring and photographing the world’s landscapes is a constant journey. This project in Iceland grew out of decades spent capturing land, sea, and mountains—thousands of images collected over more than forty years. After studying Iceland’s unique terrain, I knew its dramatic landscape would harmonize with my style and provide an inspiring setting for new work.
Often described as a “Photographer’s Paradise,” Iceland lived up to its reputation the moment I arrived on this island just below the Arctic Circle. Traveling during the summer solstice gave me nearly 24 hours of daylight—endless opportunities to create. Many nights, I found myself photographing past midnight, with the sun still lingering on the horizon, bathing the land in extraordinary light.
For me, the landscape itself is the studio—whether mountain, ocean, or open expanse. It is in these vast and wild places that I find freedom, inspiration, and the chance to interpret nature through my lens.
I work exclusively in black and white. Stripped of color, the shapes, lines, and tonal contrasts of the land reveal themselves with greater clarity. Where color records reality, black and white transforms it—conveying the magic of light on earth and sea in a way that feels timeless and true to my vision.
Through my work, I strive not only to honor the natural beauty and order of the world but also to share that beauty, interpreted through my eyes, with others.
